What is Write for you?

Hi, I'm Claire, and I'm obsessed with words.

If you work with me I'll help you tell your story to your chosen audience, making it really easy for you in the process.

Using words to connect with your audience is vital, but it can be time-consuming and stressful if writing doesn't come naturally. I get to the core message of people, products and services quickly, setting it out in a way that's crisp, clear, concise and inspires action.

I treat all jobs as precious, whether it's writing a strategy, website or awards submission for a big corporate client or a small personal project such as a speech, CV or personal statement for an individual or small business.

I've done masses of corporate work, most notably for the NHS, Department for Work and Pensions, Next, Yorkshire Water and Leeds City Council, and I also work with numerous entrepreneurs on their PR and personal brand.

And with proven success as a writer and influencer in my own right, you really can trust me to do the heavy lifting!
About me

I'm a very proud mum, rescue greyhound owner and midlife influencer. I live in my beloved Yorkshire but enjoy travelling further afield for business or pleasure.
My love for writing and communications is what lights me up both in and outside of work. As well as putting my clients in the spotlight, I'm a published writer in my own right, spreading a realistic and positive message about life as a 40 plus woman.
My blog my40pluslife.me has seen me write for Woman and Home, Yorkshire Life and others, and I've been featured in The Sun, The Daily Mirror, Best, Living North and the Yorkshire Evening Post. I have columns in the Yorkshire Times and Yorkshire Businesswoman magazine - I also write for HN Magazine and Travelista.
As a writer and communicator with 25 + years of technical skill, and lived experience of what it takes to stand out in a crowded media landscape against all odds, you'll be in safe hands, I promise.
Copywriting

Using words to connect with your audience is vital, but it can be time-consuming and stressful if writing doesn’t come naturally. Whether it’s SEO-rich web copy, strategy writing, or crafting a full set of key messages you can use across all your channels, you can trust
me to tell your story in a way that’s concise, clear and inspires action.

Ghostwriting

Many of my clients say “ that’s exactly how I’d have written it myself!” So if you have a story or point of view burning inside you but you don’t have the time or knowledge to start telling it, hand your baby over to me. I’ve written for senior execs, solo founders and international performers, so you’ll be in very safe hands.

Speechwriting

A public speaking opportunity is precious but can cause great anguish. I write for senior execs who have one opportunity to get it right at high stakes events, as well as wedding party members, eulogy givers and everything in between! I’ m also a frequent public speaker myself, so I know how to help you hit the right notes without the sleepless nights.

Coaching

I love empowering my clients to be visibly and unapologetically themselves in their chosen field. I’ve delivered many group workshops and one to one training sessions to help people improve their confidence and personal impact, including in the NHS. It’s one thing having a well-crafted, powerful story - imagine what could happen if you/your employees had the confidence to tell it with real conviction!

PR

I give my clients the tools and the confidence to take up space in the media and stand out amongst a sea of other content. And I secure them a significant amount of coverage across print, digital and broadcast media. I love facilitating collaborations with well-placed brands and individuals too, some international.

My PR clients include an international reputational management firm, who commissioned me to help generate their own media coverage. This is quite the endorsement! I'm also the PR for a new Yorkshire film and two excellent charities, educational theatre company Soundproof Box and Recovery Runners.
If you're a solo founder with a story to tell, I'll get you "media ready" so you can smash it in the spotlight. Because if people like who you are and what you stand for, they're far more likely to buy what you sell.

Or if you want to use PR to promote your business, there WILL be masses of powerful raw material lying dormant within your team as you focus on delivery. I'm great at getting the magic out of people's heads and into the media (I realise that sounds a bit sinister but I promise it won't be).
